Conservation of artist John Clement's sculpture "Firefly" located in The Woodlands, TX.

The Houston Art Gallery Association (HAGA) invites you for a special presentation by OnAim Conservation, LLC about preventive conservation for outdoor sculptures, hosted by Gallery Sonja Roesch. This is a free event and open to the public on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 7pm - 8pm.

Preventive conservation ensures the sculpture’s longevity and prevents the need for costly and time-consuming restoration. Especially for outdoor sculptures, much of the prevention efforts are focused on combating environmental pollutants, such as acid rain. As the AIC Code of Ethics states, the most effective means of promoting the long-term preservation of cultural property is through preventive conservation.
