Catherine Couturier Gallery is delighted to present the second major solo exhibition and newest body of work by gallery artist Kenny Braun, entitled Picturing Texas. The artist will be in attendance and signing copies of As Far As You Can See at the opening reception on Saturday, September 7th.
Since publishing his series Surf Texas with the University of Texas Press in 2014, Kenny Braun has focused his attention on the natural wonders of Texas. In his series As Far as You Can See published in 2018, Braun portrays the full range of Texas’s natural landscapes. Between the deserts of West Texas and the swamps of East Texas, Braun shares unexpected views as well as the adventurous spirit his home state has cultivated within him.
Born in Houston, Kenny Braun now lives and works in Austin. His work is included in numerous private and public collections including The Wittliff Collections at Texas State University. As an editorial photographer his work can be seen in Texas Monthly, Wired, Southern Living, Texas Highways, Southwest: The Magazine, This Old House, and more.
Kenny Braun: Picturing Texas will be on view from September 7th – October 12th, 2019.
